Academic Honors and Scholarships
Entrance scholarship
This scholarship is given to incoming freshmen based on the following criteria:
A. High school graduate with grades not lower than 85% in all subjects.
B. Graduated Valedictorian or Salutatorian
The recipient is entitled to full or partial exemption from payment of tuition fees for the first semester of the Year Level I program, on the basis of the following criteria reported as follows:
A. Valedictorian – full exemption
B. Salutatorian – 50% discount
The following credentials must be presented to the College of Physical Therapy:
A.Form 138 High School records
B.Letter from the Principal as to the size of the class and honors received.
Honorific Scholarships (Dean’s List)
- Any student with regular semestral load with a general weighted average of 1.75 or better with no grades below 2.5 in any subject and upon the recommendation of the Committee on Scholarships and Awards approval of the Dean, be given recognition as an Honorific Scholar in the succeeding semester.
- Honorific Scholarships are awarded to deserving students and are based solely on academic performance. This is without accompanying monetary benefits.
Special Scholarships
On recommendation of the committee on scholarship and academic honor of the Dean College of P.T. the Board of Trustees will, by special resolution grant special scholarships of varying degrees to deserving students in the College of Physical Therapy.
A. Grants-in-Aid
These are awarded to a limited number of students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th years who may need financial assistance
- Eligibility for Grants-in-aid:
Grantee must be:
- in need of financial assistance; income tax return of parents must be submitted
- a Filipino citizen and a permanent resident of the Philippines
- currently enrolled in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year in the Medical Center, inclusive of the 5th year in the College of Physical Therapy, with an average of 3.0 or better and must have no failing grade;
- The criteria for eligibility must be attached to the application form and letter of intent.
Concerned students may apply to the Chairman, Committee on Academic Honor and Scholarship, College of Physical Therapy.
B. Book Scholarships (Dr. Jose Tandoc Book Scholarship)
- The award is a form of payment to fund the books of needy student(s) enrolled at the university.
- The recipient could apply for the funding during the second year at the university. The fund will be awarded to purchase the book(s) for the coming school year for a third year and a fourth year student. If no one on the level qualifies, the scholarship could also be offered to students who are on the second year or first year level. The recipient could purchase the text book of his/her choice.
Incentives for Board Examinees
The UERMMMC grants cash awards to graduates of the College of Physical Therapy who place in the TOP 10 of the Board Examination
