AFTER OUR FOUR MONTHS OF preparation, the private and voluntary accreditation body PAASCU (Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities) finally granted Level II Re-accreditation to the UERMMMCI College of Physical Therapy.
The PAASCU accreditors visited the College on January 25 and 26, 2010. Both specific (Instruction, Laboratories and Faculty) and common areas (Administration, Student Services, Community and Library) were assessed as requested for the accreditation, along with the College of Nursing. The accreditors were headed by Dr. Elizabeth Melchor, VP for Planning and Development of Far Eastern University.
The recently acquired recom-mendations for CPT will now be the new standards for the coming re-accreditation for Level III within the next five years.

THE PHYSICAL THERAPY STUDENT Council of UERMMMCI attended the National Prayer and Forum with the Youth for HOPE (Honest, Orderly and Peaceful Elections) 2010 at the PNP multipurpose center at Camp Crame in Quezon City on May 5, 2010.
The program started with an invocation jointly led by Rev. Fr. Sergio L. Surigao, Rev. Fr. Manuel R. Deus and Imam Ebra M. Moxsir, Al-Haj. The participants were then briefed on the PNP Integrated Transformation Program and the PNP's security preparations for the 2010 elections. General Jesus A. Versoza, PNP Chief, added that the PNP and national task force HOPE would be on high alert 24/7 during the election period.
Other speakers during the forum were PPSUPT Hawthorne Binag, Chief of Staff of the PNP-PMO; PSUPT Roman Arugay, PNP Directorate for Operations; and PCSUPT Nicanor Bartolome, Director of PCRG.
In the end, the participants signed on an advocacy board for HOPE 2010 and had a tour of the PNP premises. Final blessings were led by Rev. Fr. Deody Barret, Bishop Timothy Tabulao, Ustadz Imam Basher Tomilang and five youth representatives.

ON MAY 15, 2010, THE COLLEGE of Physical Therapy, in cooperation with the UERMMMCI Physical Therapy Alumni Association, Inc., held its very first leadership workshop at Room 502 of the New Administration Building.
"Experience... Leadership" was the theme of the workshop, which aimed to teach the newly elected student council officers, batch representatives and club officers about leadership and management.
The workshop started with a SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis of the previous Student Council, led by the Association's President, Ms. Fria Rose Santos, PTRP, MSPH. This was followed by a lecture by Mr. John Christopher De Luna, PTRP, MSPH, about strategizing plans more efficiently by taking into consideration elements such as goals, resources and teamwork.
The by-laws of the Student Council were reviewed and some changes were made. Afterwards, the calendar of activities for school year 2010-2011 was planned. The leadership workshop ended with the budgeting of expected expenses for the school year
