Best Lantern Awards

December 14, 2006—The Hospital Quadrangle was all happy noise and excitement as the Search for the Lantern Queen went underway, with the heartily crowd rooting for their favorites. Five contestants hailing from the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing and Physical Therapy participated.
	After 11 years, and with great pride and exuberance, the College of Nursing reclaimed the title of Lantern Queen through Michelle A. Noconof Scyons 2007. Ms. Nocon also won the Model of the Night award which gives her a one-year modeling contract with Model of Asia.
The College also won the Best Lantern prize, through the creation of Nursing Class 2009 (a.k.a. Oasis 2009). A team led by Melissa Zubiri and Mary Anne Romero of Oasis 2009 designed the lantern.
