- Who can avail of the guidance services?
Any student who is enrolled in UERMMMCI may avail of the guidance services.
- If I went for a counseling session, would other people know about my problems?
The counselors take utmost care of your personal information thus, every counseling session is highly confidential. However, there are limits to this confidentiality. Counselors are mandated by law to disclose to authorized people, such as the Senior Guidance Counselor as well as your parents, about your case if there is imminent danger or harm to you or another person and when summoned by court.
- Is counseling purely advice-giving?
Counseling is a collaborative process between the counselor and the student in constructing solutions to their problems. The counselors use different approaches depending on the student’s case. The student is encouraged and expected to take a proactive role in the counseling relationship.
- What happens in the counseling session?
Different areas of the student’s life will be explored in the sessions. There will be times that uncomfortable thoughts and feelings may be elicited from him or her but exploring these areas will help the counselor come up with a better assessment and appropriate interventions.
- When should I seek for help?
Although counselors provide assistance to other mental health professionals with students experiencing serious mental concern such as depression and anxiety, help is likewise being provided to students encountering academic, personal, social, and career concerns. The role of the Guidance and Counseling Office is to support the holistic learning experience of the students as they go through their college years.
- How do I make an appointment for a counseling session?

- I want to take a psychological test. How can I avail of the testing services?
As part of its services, the Guidance and Counseling Office administers different psychological tests to students depending on their year level. If you wish to know more about this service, you may send an email to the office so the counselor could determine the nature of your request.
- How can I make a referral?
If you are a faculty member or a family member and you wish to refer your student/s or child/children, you may reach the Guidance and Counseling Office through the contact details above. You may also download and accomplish the referral form on the link below and email to guidanceoffice@uerm.edu.ph.
- Are the guidance services available during breaks and even when students are on flexible methods of learning?
The Guidance and Counseling Office, in its commitment to make its services available despite the government ceasing in-campus interactions, has shifted to technology-supported delivery of programs and services. It has adapted to diverse means of delivering its services online. Students are reached thru the utilization of different platforms such as UERM Canvas, Google Meet, Viber, and the like.
