  • The yellow curve above UERM symbolizes the roof that holds the institution together and depicts movement embodying UERM’s capability to be innovative and transformative.
     It  also connects our customers, symbolized by the letter “U” to the individuals of the institutions- Academe, Hospital and Research, symbolized by the letter “M”.

 

  • UERM are stylized letters, converted to an image, so that it is ownable to us. It is an homage to our honorable heritage of being University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center.

 

  • Medical Center is in Arial font, a crisp and straightforward font, together with the yellow underline representing our endless mission to the Filipino.

 

  • The core palette is made up of Dark Blue and Vivid Yellow. Blue stands for spirituality, peace and excellence. Yellow stands for integrity, commitment, social responsibility and compassion, our core values.

1. The logo of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center Incorporated (UERMMMCI) is in royal blue and golden yellow, its official colors. Blue stands for spirituality, peace, and excellence while yellow stands for integrity, commitment, social responsibility, and compassion, its core values.

2. Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Inc. is written in black on the yellow circle surrounding the blue portion.

3. On the blue portion are the following symbols and their meaning:

3.1 The serpent entwined on a sceptre is an adaptation of the rod of Aesculapius signifying health and healing.
3.2 The sceptre is a symbol of authority.
3.3 The book beneath the sceptre symbolizes knowledge, wisdom and quality education. On the left page is a lamp and on the right page is written: “Medicine for Human Progress”.
3.4 The laurel leaf on the right signifies honor, achievement and learning while the olive leaf on the left stands for peace.
3.5 The sun symbolizes enlightenment.
3.6 The yellow gold ribbon below the book has the year of founding, 1957.
3.7 The letters U and E on the sides of the sceptre are for University of the East.
3.8 The sun and the letters U and E are in white which signify purity.

 

 

  1. The letters UERMMMCI are written on the upper part of the circle and below it are the words College of Medicine. The letters are black on a yellow circle.

  2. The serpent on a staff is the rod of Aesculapius symbol of the healing arts and the authority of medicine.

  3. The torch stands for hope, freedom, and faith.

  1. The outermost circle consists of yellow rays or sunlight which symbolizes enlightenment.

  2. On the next circle are the letters UERMMMCI and the words College of Nursing in yellow against a blue background.

  3. In the innermost circle are the following symbols and their meanings:

  1. The symbol of the serpent entwined around a staff is an adaptation from the Rod of Asclepius that signifies medicine and healing –achieving optimal health through rehabilitation. Its golden color represents the core values of integrity, commitment, social accountability, and compassion.

  3. The laurel leaves stand for knowledge and learning.

  5. The blue ribbon stands for the trademark of excellence, competence, and compassion. 
  6. The circle signifies unity, wholeness, and infinity toward achieving quality education. 
  7. The blue and yellow colors represent the official color of the college.

 

  1. VIRUS ICOSAHEDRON SHAPE – represents MICROBIOLOGY, the study of microscopic organisms. Microbiology covers several disciplines, including virology (study of viruses), bacteriology (study of bacteria), and mycology (study of fungi). The majority of viruses have capsids with either helical or icosahedral structures. A capsid is the protein shell of a virus. The capsid encloses the genetic material of the virus.

  2. Each facet of the figure represents a major branch of discipline of the study of Clinical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology.

  3. ANTIBODY STRUCTURE – represents IMMUNOLOGY and SEROLOGY, the scientific study of antigen and antibody reactions in vitro usually dealing with diagnostic examination of blood serum, especially with regard to the response of the immune system to pathogens or introduced substances.
  4. SCHISTOSOMA JAPONICUM ADULTS – represents PARASITOLOGY, the scientific study of parasites. Schistosomiasis is prevalent in tropical and sub-tropical areas, in poor communities without potable water and adequate sanitation like some endemic provinces in the Philippines.

  5. WHITE BLOOD CELL; NEUTROPHIL – represents HEMATOLOGY and BLOOD BANKING, the study of blood, the blood-forming organs, and blood diseases. Hematology includes the study of etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention of blood diseases that affect the production of blood and its components, such as blood cells, hemoglobin, blood proteins, and the mechanism of coagulation

  6. LABORATORY GLASSWARES – represents CLINICAL CHEMISTRY (clinical biochemistry or medical biochemistry) is the area of clinical pathology that is generally concerned with the chemical analysis of blood.

  7. BINOCULAR COMPOUND MICROSCOPE – represents CLINICAL MICROSCOPY, the clinical study of the gross chemical and microscopic appearance of body fluids other than blood. The microscope is an instrument used in clinical microscopy to obtain an enlarged image of small objects and reveal details of structures not otherwise distinguishable from the naked eye. The modern microscope uses two eyepieces permitting the use of both eyes and likewise utilizes two lens system.

  8. LEAVES OF KAKAWATI – represents RESEARCH; another discipline of medical technology is the commitment to research. Gliricidia sepium (Jacq.) Steud. ( kakawati, Madre Cacao) is a naturalized plant throughout the Philippines; brought by the Spaniards from Mexico; the leaves have anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic, and insecticidal properties

  1. The letters UERMMMCI are written on the upper part of the circle and Graduate School is on the lower part. The yellow letters are on the blue circle.

  2. On the white portion are the staff of Aesculapius, a blue scroll, and on the right side is a torch. The staff of Aesculapius is the traditional symbol of health and healing. The torch symbolizes enlightenment and wisdom, placed beside the scroll of degrees of excellence. On the scroll is written: “Excellence in Higher Education”. The scroll symbolizes translating graduate work into meaningful communications of expertise and scholarly work.

  3. The laurel leaves stand for honor and the leaves extend beyond the inner border of the circle signifying vibrancy: growth, friendship, renewal, and opportunity.

  1. The logo utilizes the acronym of an institution that is at peace and committed to its community.

  2. The letters UERM is given prominence to finally emphasize its name.

  3. This institution known by the community has evolved for the better.
