Minimum Qualifications for Admission

To be considered for admission as a freshman to the Doctor of Medicine degree program, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

Educational Background

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized higher educational institution and must have graduated without issue prior to the start of the regular enrollment period.

National Medical Admission Test (NMAT)

Applicants must have taken the NMAT within two (2) years prior to admission, achieving a minimum percentile score of 70.

 

For the School Year 2025-2026 freshman intake, only the following NMAT examination dates will be accepted:

  •  January, April, May, and October 2023
  •  January, February, May, and October 2024
  •  January and February 2025

 

The Admissions Office will process the applications of the following applicants only after they sign an undertaking, which is valid only until March 28, 2025 (Friday), agreeing to submit an NMAT score of 70 or better: 

  •  Applicants whose current NMAT percentile score is below 70
  •  Applicants who have not yet taken the NMAT

Classification of Applicants

Local Applicants

  • Resident Filipino citizens
  • Filipinos with dual citizenship, provided they have proof of residency for at least five (5) consecutive years in the Philippines

Foreign Applicants

  • Resident aliens
  • Non-resident aliens
  • Non-resident Filipinos (immigrants from another country)
  • Filipino citizens who obtained their bachelor’s degree from recognized higher educational institutions outside the Philippines
  • Foreign citizens with pending applications for dual citizenship or naturalization at the time of their application for admission to the Medical Center

Initial Application Requirements

All interested applicants must accomplish the online application form through the UERM Student Admission Portal. Original copies of the following requirements must be submitted to the Admissions Office:

For All Applicants

  1. One (1) original copy of birth certificate
  2. One (1) original copy of the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) percentile score or Undertaking for NMAT, as applicable
  3. One (1) original copy of official transcript of records or true copy of grades, as applicable, issued by the higher educational institution
    • For applicants with completed bachelor’s degree: Complete copy of official transcript of records indicating the degree obtained and the date of graduation
    • For applicants who are candidates for graduation: True copy of grades for applicable years
      • For four-year bachelor’s degree programs: Include grades for the first three years only
      • For five-year bachelor’s degree programs: Include grades for the first four years only
  4. Two (2) original copies of 2” x 2” ID picture in white background

Additional Requirements (For Foreign Applicants Only)

  1. One (1) original copy and two (2) photocopies of diploma or certificate of graduation with “Apostille”
  2. One (1) original copy and two (2) photocopies of official transcript of records with “Apostille”
  3. Six (6) original copies of accomplished Personal History Statement Form (Revised 1998)
  4. One (1) original copy and two (2) photocopies of notarized affidavit of support and proof of adequate financial support (i.e., bank statement to cover the expenses for the student’s accommodation and subsistence as well as school dues and other incidental expenses)
  5. One (1) original copy and two (2) photocopies of the notarized police clearance in the applicant’s country of origin or legal residence
  6. Photocopy of the pages of the valid passport/s which shows the name, picture, birth date, and birth place of the applicant
  7. Eight (8) pieces of 2 x 2 ID picture with name tag (in white background)
  8. For foreign applicants who visited the Philippines at least once: One (1) original copy and two (2) photocopies of clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)

     

Application Procedures

  1. For the School Year 2025-2026 freshman intake, the online application period will start on November 11, 2024 (Monday).
  2. Complete the online application form through the UERM Student Admission Portal.
  3. Submit the original copy of the initial application requirements and two (2) printed and signed copies of online application form contained in a sealed long brown envelope to the Admissions Office.

For applicants outside Metro Manila, please ensure that all requirements must be received by the Admissions Office on or before February 7, 2025 (Friday).  Concerned applicants may use following contact details:

  1. Pay the non-refundable and non-transferrable application fee. The payment details will be given through the UERM Student Admission Portal once the Admissions Office acknowledges the receipt of your submitted documents.  The fee details are as follows:
      • Local applicants: ₱3,000
      • Foreign applicants: US$300
  1. Select the date and time schedule of your online interview through the UERM Student Admission Portal once your payment has been validated.
  2. The deadline for submission of online applications and application requirements is on February 7, 2025 (Friday), 5:00 pm Philippine standard time.
  3. Results shall be released on April 2025. Applicants may access the results of their application status through the UERM Student Admission Portal.  Local applicants will be notified via text message while foreign applicants will receive notifications by e-mail.
