Honors and awards are granted upon the recommendation of the Committee on Scholarship and Awards and subsequent approval by the faculty of graduating students.
Honors shall be given to graduating students who demonstrates exceptional academic performance and meets the following general criteria:
Average of at least 2.0 in Related Learning Experience from first year to fourth year
Ranks one of the first ten in her/his class
No grade lower than 2.5 in any course or RLE.
No incomplete grade (not completed before the start of the succeeding academic year), no dropped subject throughout the course
No record of any misconduct or have not been subjected to any disciplinary action
At least three years residence in the College of Nursing
Academic Honors
Summa Cum Laude
1.00 to 1.20 average grade
Magna Cum Laude
1.21 to 1.45 average grade
Cum Laude
1.46 to 1.75 average grade
Special Awards
Clinical Excellence
Have attained the highest average grade in RLE
Have manifested a superior standard of performance in total nursing care of patients utilizing the nursing process
Have displayed ability to adjust easily to different clinical situations in the hospital, community or other health agencies
Have consistently shown good working relationship with patients, families and community as well as with members of other disciplines
Leadership
An officer in the student government and/or other campus organization for at least one academic year
Participated with significant contribution to the projects and activities organized by the class, the Nursing Student Council or other organization
Fostered a good working relationship with co-students in various endeavors that brought recognition and benefits to the College of Nursing
Demonstrated the ability to delegate responsibility and provide equal opportunities for others to develop their leadership potentials
Provide inspiration to groups that resulted to the enhancement of group loyalty
Community Service
Displayed serious commitment and dedication through active participation in voluntary work on community programs especially during emergencies and calamities
Demonstrated leadership in initiating and handling community development projects in his/her community
Developed and maintained pleasant relationship with patients, families, community health workers and community leaders
Displayed outstanding performance in the required Community Health Nursing Experience
